BB Heckler is starting a new daily rundown to update happenings around the league, and as always, remember the rules 1)Everything I write is funny 2)if something I write isn’t funny, it isn’t me, it’s you

**An arcane baseball rule of the MLB charter, Section 15, Rule 2-A states "In the off-season, No major leaguer shall attempt to maim another person w/a machete, and then try to BBQ them with gasoline and a match. Failure to comply could result in suspension". http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051108/ap_on_sp_ba_ne/venezuela_urbina I always wondered about Ugie since he practically French-kissed Pudge Rodriguez after each game of the 2003 Playoffs**

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it: It seems teams are always trying to answer the Closer question, many times with little success. While Billy Wagner and a couple of other names will garner most of the excitement/headlines, the BB Heckler thinks a team would be right to go after Tom Gordon, who has been setting up the best closer of all time, Mariano Rivera in NY the last 2 years. Gordon would come relatively cheap, and while the Save itself is an overrated stat, he loves the pressure, and has had great success in his previous stints as the door-shutter. 46 of 47 Save conversions in 1998 w/Boston. 49 out of 57 the 3 other years sandwiching 1998.
